Art Profile :

Aysun Erdemli was born in Ankara in 1957. She finished Technical Teacher Training College for Girls in 1981. She worked as a teacher of painting and graphic art at Üreğil Vocational High School for 4 years and at Yenimahalle Anadolu Vocational High School for 17 years. She served in the commission of paintings in the Yenimahalle Administrative District and the District Director of Education. Erdemli also took part in many art organizations within the activities of culture, art and sport in Yenimahalle. She paints in water colors, oil colors, and works with different materials and techniques: serigraphy, ceramics, gravure, ebru (marbling), vitray, batik and felts. She also designs accessories. Erdemli has decorated interior of several important public organizations. She painted in watercolors of regional plants for a project sponsored by the Nature Society. Erdemli has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in group exhibitions. After she retired from teaching in 2002, she started working at the Erdemli-Han Art House in Beypazarı where she exhibits and sells her and her husbands’ art work. She has received many awards as a teacher for 21 years. She was selected as “the teacher of the year” in 1991 and 1993.
