Aydın Büke was born in Istanbul in 1958. After finishing Kabataş High School for Boys, he studied and graduated from Istanbul State Conservatory. He then went to Austria and studied music for three years. After returning to Turkey, Büke started serving as a flutist in the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra. Between 1995 and 2004, he prepared the classical music program on TRT Radio III. In addition, Büke is a writer and published 5 books: İki Dahi Üç Opera (1998), Bach Yaşamı ve Eserleri (2001), Mozart Bir Yaşam Öyküsü (2006), Müziği Yaratanlar – Barok Dönem (2006) (with Mine Altınel) and Chopin: Tuşlara Aamış Bir Yaşam (2010). He has also written many articles in different magazines. Currently, Büke continues to play in the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and teaches on the History of Music in the Faculty of Art Design at Yıldız Technical University and in the Institute of Social Sciences at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
