Alp Ersönmez was born in Izmir. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Dokuz Eylül University in 1997. He pursued his study at the Department of Jazz Composition at Bilgi University and graduated in 2003. He is a member of the group of Kangroove, Quartet Muartet and Istanbul. He is also the bass player of Tarkan and Nil Karaibrahimgil. Ersönmez has also performed with Erkan Oğur, Erik Truffaz, Wax Poetic, Alexandre Tassel, Butch Morris, Eddie Henderson, Athena, Dj. Logic, Cahit Berkay of Moğollar, Karina Zeviani, Clark Gatton, Kenan Doğulu, Sertab Erener, Önder Focan, Akın Eldes, Emin Fındıkoğlu and Lost Songs of Anatolia. Ersönmez has performed in numerous pop albums, soundtracks, and compilations, which have been released worldwide. He arranged and played bass and keyboards in the rock band Athena’s “Pis” (2010).

In 2011, Ersönmez released his debut album “Yazısız,” which contains his compositions put together with the help of the contemporary musical conceptions and capabilities of the modern harmonic textures. Many artists including Erik Truffaz, Erkan Oğur, İmer Demirer, Sibel Köse and Akın Eldes have contributed into the album.
