Ajda Boydağ was born in Berat, Albania. She started her violin lessons at the age of seven in the Ajet Xhindole Music School and graduated in 1992. She continued her musical education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, and graduated from the Violin Department in 1996. She gave her first public recital at the age of 13. Shortly after, she won a special prize in the Violin Festival, which was organized in the city of Vlore, Albania. Due to the war, she immigrated to Turkey in 1997. After working in several orchestras, Boydağ entered Istanbul Technical University, Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) in 2000 and continued her education with Cihat Aşkın. She graduated with a Master’s degree in 2004. Boydağ took part in the master classes of Itzhak Rashkovsky, Hagai Shaham and Alexander Markov in Istanbul. She played in a violin master class under the tutelage of Prof. Igor Oistrakh, which was organized by Izmir Foundation for Culture Arts and Education in 2004. Boydağ has given numerous solo and duo recitals, and participated in several chamber music and contemporary music ensembles. She is a member of the Piano Trio that made the first performance of Clara Schumann’s piano trio, op.17 in Turkey. She performed Prokofiev’s violin concerto no.2 with the Ploiesti Constaninescu Philharmonic Orchestra, Romania in 2005. Boydağ is a member and one of the founders of the Arcoda Piano Quartet. She is also a member of the Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra.
