Kent Mete started his musical education with his father Aydemir Mete. Kent graduated from the Cello Department in the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in 1986. He continued his study in the Department of Composition and Orchestra Conducting at his alma mater, and completed in 1995. Since 2002, Mete has performed with Jazz Aero, Brill Brothers and Nikolai Uryupin, and Trio Jazz Fraction in Turkey and Russia. He has also worked with composer Konstantin Duschenko. In 2004, Mete won the Best Jazz Pianist Award in the Moscow Jazz Festival. In 2008, he participated in the Khabarovsk Jazz Festival. In addition to Jazz music, Mete also composes contemporary music including symphony and cello concerto. His composition for orchestra “Moscow 5 pm” was premiered by Khabarovsk Symphony Orchestra. He also prepared music for Russian films such as “St. Valentine” (2005), Anatolian Winds” (2007) and “Moscow Memories” (2009).
