Kağan Yıldız was born in Istanbul in 1980. He started his musical education with his uncle Orhan Akıncı who is a music teacher. Yıldız studied music and double bass in the Contrabass Department at Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory and graduated in 2002. After graduation, he continued to work with Assoc. Prof. Engin Babahan. Since 2002, Yıldız has performed with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Bursa State Symphony Orchestra, Akbank Chamber Orchestra, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, CRR Symphony Orchestra, and Sisli Municipality Symphony Orchestra. In addition to Classical music, Yıldız has also performed jazz music professionally. He has performed in numerous concerts and international festivals with famous jazz musicians such as Önder Focan, Kerem Görsev, Tuna Otenel, Imer Demirer, Sibel Köse, Nilüfer Verdi, Sarp Maden, Kamil Özler, Ricky Ford, Allan Harris, Harvey Weinapel, Michel Borstlap, Giovanni Mazzarino, Freddie Cole, Mark Murpy, Dave Samuels, Dena De Rose, and Lee Konitz.
