Kaan Buldular was born in Istanbul in 1980. He studied opera with S. Filiz Ergün at the Istanbul University State Conservatory. He then studied countertenor with Lynn Trepel Çaplar in 2003 and graduated from the conservatory in 2007. Buldular has attended many workshops of renowned artists such as Prof. Marioara Trifan, Verena Keller, Prof. Mathias Behrends, Andreas Kowalewitz, Dirk Wedmann, and Leyla Pınar. Since 2003, Buldular is a member of Istanbul Baroque Ensemble and has performed with pianists in various concerts and festivals in Turkey and abroad. He has received several awards including a mention award in the 2nd Izmir National Youth Soloist contest. In 2006, Buldular sang Stabat Mater, which was composed by Pergolesi for countertenor, with the Sera Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Özcan Sönmez. In 2009, Buldular performed as a soloist in the contemporary show "Song of Songs" with Nodancerscompany, directed by Tobias Winter in Frankfurt. In the same year, he was praised by Swiss press because of his performance in the Opernwerkstadt Opera Festival in Bern. Buldular participated in the 12th Zehra Yıldız Memorial Concert and sang a variety of arias. He currently continues performing in Turkey and abroad.
