Jülide Canca Eke learned violin when she was a primary school student. In 1983-1986 she studied cello with Reşit Erzin and İhsan Kartal at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory. After completing her two years degree at the Music Department of Bilkent University, she studied cello at Konservatuorium der Stadt Wien in Vienna in 1991-1997. She graduated from the Department of Kozertfach and returned to Istanbul in 1998. Eke has performed with various orchestras such as the ORF 20th Century Orchestra, Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Milli Reasürans Chamber Orchestra, Cemal Reşit Rey Orchestra, and Istanbul Chamber Orchestra. She performed in the Akbank Chamber Orchestra for 12 years. Eke has also played as solo artist. She taught cello at Pera High School of Fine Arts for 3 years. In 2012 she founded the Feministanbul, the first female classical music orchestra in Turkey.
