İnci Yakar started playing piano with Arzu Ülkü at Mimar Sinan University in 1992. She graduated from the Composition Department in 2001; and from the Piano Department in 2002. In the same year, she performed “Three Volume for Orchestra” with the Izmir Symphony Orchestra, which was conducted by Rengim Gökmen in the Eczacıbaşı National Composition Contest, and received mention prize. She received a fellowship from Eczacıbaşı Holding and continued her piano study at Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany. In 2006, she graduated from the school and was accepted to the Soloist Department. Currently she continues her study piano with Prof. Thomas Duis and Fedele Antonicelli; chamber music works with Prof. Eduard Burnner and Prof. Tatevik Mokatsian. In addition, she participated in master’s class of Alessio Bax, Bruno Canino and Marisa Somma. She received fellowship from Bruno-Elizabeth Meindle Stiftung and a supporting award of Zonta Stiftung. In 2006, with the support of Richard Wagner Verband, she performed Liszt’s No.1 Piano Concerto with Hochschule für Musik Saar Orchestra. She also participated in the Schwetzingen Mozart Festival and her performance was recorded for SR-2 Kultur Radio. Within the “Grenzenlos” contemporary music project, she played Natalia Chepelyuk’s piano concerto “e-statico” with Luxembourg Sinfonietta in the Philarmonie Luxembourg, Mainz, Saarbrücken and Metz Arsenal.
