İmer Demirer was born in Ankara in 1964. He began playing trumpet at the age of 12. After graduating from Mimar Sinan Istanbul State Conservatory in 1987, he performed with various groups at festivals, jazz clubs and miscellaneous events. In 1989, he joined Süheyl Denizci′s Turkish Radio Television /TRT) Istanbul Radio Jazz Orchestra. Besides performing in many recordings, concerts, and festivals, he also played at European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Jazz Orchestra as representative of TRT on many occasions.

From 1998 to 2004, Demirer gave ensemble and trumpet classes at Bilgi University. He has worked with many great musicians in Turkey such as Hırant Lusigyan, Tuna Ötenel, Erol Pekcan, Selçuk Sun, Deniz Dündar, Öğuz Durukan, Mahmut Yalay, Ateş Tezer, Aydın Esen, Neşet Ruacan, Sarp Maden, Elvan Aracı, Muaffak Falay, Selim Selçuk, İlhan Erşahin, Can Kozlu, Nükhet Ruacan, Sibel Köse, Ayşe Gencer, Ricky Ford, Nilüfer Verdi, Murat Verdi, Butch Moris, Serkan Özyılmaz, Nükhet Aruca, Ari Honig, Essiet Essiet, Aaron Goldberg, Gary Fisher, John Henkins, B.J. Crozby, Orrin Ecans, Larry Willams, Stefhan Belmondo, Lezlie Harrison, Larry Willis, and Woddy Williams.

In 2009, Demirer released his first album "You, Me & Char." (Pozitif Music) He currently performs and gives concerts in Istanbul.
