Hülya Kazan was born in Bolu in 1973. She entered Ankara State Conservatory at Hacettepe University in 1990 and studied with Assoc. Prof. Rezzan Sökmen. After 7 years, Kazan graduated first in her class and received the Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı Merit Bonus. She then studied under Suna Korad in the Faculty of Music and Art, and completed her Master′s degree at Bilkent University. Kazan has served as a tutor and assistant director in Ankara University State Conservatory.

In 1998 Kazan sang soprano part in a film music composed by Muammer Sun for the film “Cumhuriyet”, which was shot by TRT. In 1999 she participated in the 6th. Bilkent Anatolia Music Festival and sang as a soloist under the conductor Gürer Aykal. Kazan also participated and sang in opening concert in festivals such as the 40th. International Bursa Culture and Art Festival, and the first International Culture and Art Festival in Hattuşaş. Between 1999 and 2001, she sang as a soloist with Bursa State Symphony Orchestra in many concerts. Kazan was invited to the Cyprus, Bellapais Antique Monastery on the occasion of the 78th. Anniversary of Founding Day of Turkish Republic to give her concert between 20th and 25th October in 2001. She has performed as a soloist with important orchestras such as the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Bursa State Symphony Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and Cemal Reşit Rey Symphony Orchestra.

Kazan took various roles as a soloist in many opera works at Ankara State Opera and Ballet. She has also given many concerts and recitals in Turkey. She worked with many important conductors such as Gürer Aykal, Hikmet Şimşek, Rengim Gökmen, Orhan Şallıel, Emin Güven Yaşlıçam, Jose Maria Florencio, Bujor Hoinc, Sunay Muradov, İbrahim Yazıcı, Winfried Müller, Alfred Michorine, Ertuğ Korkmaz, Selman Ada and Naci Özgüç. Kazan participated as a soloist in the Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival. She sang in Ahmet Adnan Saygun’s opera “Özsoy” and Selman Ada’s opera “Aşk-ı Memnu” with Cemal Reşit Rey Symphony Orchestra.
