Gülru Ensari

Gülru Ensari was born in Istanbul in 1987. She started her piano education with Associate Prof. Nihan Yapalı at the Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1993. After graduating from Deutsche Schule Istanbul in 2006, she completed her studies at the Conservatory with Prof. Meral Yapalı as well. Since 2007, Ensari has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik Köln under Prof. Vassily Lobanov. She has attended several master classes of renowned artists, such as Prof. Leontina Margulis, Prof. Sergei Dorensky, Prof. Andrey Diev and Hüseyin Sermet.

Ensari gave her first concert at the age of 10 as a chosen young talent at the National Children’s Festival. Since then, she has taken part in many cultural events, which were held at the German Embassy, Austrian Culture Center, Mustafa Nevzat Cultural Center, IS-Sanat Concert Hall, Dutch Consulate, and Caddebostan Culture Center. She has also performed in national and international festivals such as Bebersee Festival and Turgutreis D-Marin Festival. Ensari has given concerts with various leading national orchestras including Orchestra Istanbul, Çukurova State Orchestra in Adana, Kadikoy Chamber Orchestra, and Bakirkoy Chamber Orchestra in Istanbul. Her special concert experiences include chamber music recitals with world leading musicians like the violinist Ilya Gringolts and the cellist Gautier Capuçon. Ensari has received several national and international awards.

2005, First prize at the “Jugend Musiziert” Bundeswettbewerb in the Category of Piano –Solo
2006, First prize at the “Jugend Musiziert” Bundeswettbewerb in the Category of Duo Singing-Piano
