Gamze Kırtıl started playing piano with Prof. Tulga Cetiz at the Ankara State Conservatory of Hacettepe University. After graduating from the conservatory, she completed her master′s degree with Ayşegül Sarıca in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University in 1995. She then went to France and studied with a scholarship at Conservatoire National de Musique, Danse et d′Art Dramatique / Perpignan Conservatory, where she studied piano with Marie-Christine Guichot, viora da gamba with M.C. Sala, and chamber music with Michel Lefort.

In 1997 Kırtıl received a scholarship from the French Government and pursued her study with Prof. Germaine Mounier at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris / Alfred Cortot. After receiving a Diplome d′Rcecution, she started performing piano as duo with her twin sister Arzu Kırtıl. Gamze and Arzu received a Diplome Superieur d′Execution and Diplome Superieur de Concertiste at the conservatory. In 1999 they received a third degree in the International Youth Pianists Competition in Rome (1999) and the first place in the Medoc-Aquitane Piano Competition in Bordeaux (2002).

Since 1990 Gamze Kırtıl has given her piano recitals and concerts in Turkey and Europe. She has also performed for radio recordings. In 1993 Gamze and Arzu Kırtıl gave a concert with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. Since then they have performed with renowned orchestras such as the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Hacettepe Symphony Orchestra, and Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra. Gamze Kırtıl currently teaches as a faculty member at Bilkent University and gives many concerts with Arzu Kırtıl in Turkey and abroad.
