Ersin Antep was born in Gelibolu. After finishing middle school, he started music education in Ankara. He worked with Tamer Yıldırım, Ersin Selçuk, Bülent Civelek and Ercan Yenal. After that, Antep completed undergraduate and graduate studies with Prof. Filiz Ali, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yürür, Prof. İlhan Usmanbaş, Prof. Dr. Feza Tansuğ, Prof.Dr.Selçuk Mülayim, Prof.Gülper Refiğ, Melih Duygulu ve Meliha Doğuduyal Assistant Prof. Dr. Server Acim and Assoc. Prof. Zeliha Berksoy at the Department of General Musicology and the History of Music in the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. After his graduation, Antep worked at different centers and organizations. He then served as a general secretary in the Musicology Association until 2002. His articles have been published in many magazines and newspapers such as Toplumbilim, Orkestra, Hürriyet Gösteri and Andante; Cumhuriyet, Radikal and Dünya newspapers. He has given many conferences, panels and seminars at many associations universities including Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul Technical University and Marmara University. He has also presented his papers in many symposiums, which were organized by Musicology Association, Sevda Cenap and Music Foundation, Bursa Nilüfer Municipality, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Land Forces Command and edited symposium proceeding books.

Between 2002 and 2004, Antep researched on “KKK Musika-i Hümayûn” and taught the history of music to the master’s classes at the State Conservatory of Uludağ University. Between 2004 and 2006, Antep served as press advisor in the Bursa Region State Symphony Orchestra. At the same time, he also served in many researches and projects on music within the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Navy Department. In the same period, he organized “Academic activities for Music Scientists” in the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Research and Education Center at Bilkent University. He organized the panels among Gültekin Oransay, Mahmud Ragıp Gazimihal and Cevad Memduh Altar.  Since 2003, he has worked as a writer, board member of publication and supporting of general publication director for the magazine Andante. Currently Antep has written musical articles in Andante, Hürriyet Gösteri and Cumhuriyet newspapers; and served as an advisor in several associations. In 2007, Antep served in the scientific committee and organization committee for the IV Musicology Symposium on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Adnan Saygun, which was held by Bursa Nilüfer Municipality. In addition, Antep organized many activities at Istanbul Culture University, Caddebostan Culture Center and Izmir Art. He founded the website to introduce the activities of Müzikoloji İleti Group and to widespread music science through the internet.
