Elman Mecid is a student at the Bilkent University Music and Ballet Primary School. He began his education at the Bilkent Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Music Preparatory School in 2002. He has given a number of performances over the years, including his playing of Kreisler′s "Shön Rosmarin" with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. In 2008, he gave a recital at Çankaya Municipality′s Modern Arts Center. This was followed in 2009 by a performance of Hasan Rzaev′s Scherzo with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, Mecid performed the Saint-Saens Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso with the Eskişehir Anatolia Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, he will give a concert at the Istanbul Toy Museum within the 42nd International Istanbul Music Festival.

Mecid has received many prizes and awards in Turkey and abroad. He won the first prize in the Pendim International Percussion Competition in Plovdov, Bulgaria in 2009; and as the highest scorer competitor in all categories, he was awarded a concert with the Plovdiv Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, he participated in the Giornate della Percussione in Italy, and received awards for first and third place in two different categories. In the following year, he won second prize in the Fourth International Percussion Competition, "Perkulliria" in Valencia, Spain. In 2012, Mecid received the first prize in the Fourth International Marimba Competition, organized by the Marimba Festiva in Nürnberg, Germany. He was invited by the head of the competition jury to attend master classes in Sweden and Austria during the summer. Mecid is the youngest member of the Doğuş Children′s Symphony Orchestra. He continues studying percussion with Aydın Mecid.
