Elif Önal

Elif Önal obtained her Master′s degree in piano with Prof. Tuvana Alton at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University. In 2005 she completed her doctoral degree, proficiency in arts, with Prof. Namık Sultanov and Gülnara Aziz in the Institute of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University. Önal attended various master classes of Roland Batik in Vienna, Christopf Lieske in Salzburg Mozarteum Academy, and Frank Braley, Leontina Margulis, Gülsin Onay and Hüseyin Sermet in Istanbul. In 1999 Önal won the "Best Interpreter of Turkish Works" in a piano competition, which was organized by ANAÇEV. In 2011 she received the award “Classical Music Ensemble of the Year” with Chamber Music Ensemble Bilkent Su Trio. Önal currently teaches at the Piano Department in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University. She has also performed as a soloist as well as a member of the Bilkent Piano Trio, Bilkent Su Trio, and Bilkent Ensemble.
