Ecesu Sertesen was born in Istanbul in 1987. She started studying clarinet with Feza Cetin at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in 1998. She actively participated in master classes in 2003, 2004 and 2005 with credentials of Israeli clarinetist Chen Halevi and Cem Mansur. In November 2005, she won the Third Prize in the Second Young Virtuosos Competition held by Lubomir Pipkov National School of Music in Bulgaria.

In 2008, Sertesen entered Lübeck Musik Hochschule, where she studied with Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle. After her special study with Ronald Van Spaendonek during the Ankara Music Festival in 2008, Sertesen was invited to Brussels for Postgraduate education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. In the same year, she successfully performed the Clarinet Concerto by A.Copland at the Musfata Kemal Auditorium of Istanbul Technical University, and received praises from many artists such as Fazil Say. In 2008, Sertesen was qualified through the examination of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and became a resident clarinet performer in the Orchestra.

In 2012, Sertesen performed Fazil Say′s Op. 36, "Khayyam" Clarinet Concerto with Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Naci Özgüç. Sertseven currently works as clarinetist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and gives solo and chamber music concerts. She is a founding member of Istanbul Wind Ensemble Chamber Music.
