Bülent Ortaçgil was born in Ankara in 1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Istanbul University. He began playing the guitar when he was a student at Kadıköy Maarif Collage. In 1974, Ortaçgil released his first album "Benimle Oynar Mısın?". After working as a chemical engineer at several companies for 10 years, he returned to the music market and performed with Fikret Kızılok at the Çekirdek Music House in 1985. In the following years, Ortaçgil performed with renowned artists such as Erkan Oğur, Cem Aksel, and Gürol Ağırbaş and released several albums including "Pencere Önü Çiçeği" (1986), "Oyuna Devam" (1991), "Şarkılar Bir Oyundur" (2000), "Gece Yalanları" (2003), and "Sen" (2010). Ortaçgil currently continues playing music in Istanbul.
