Ceren Baran was born in Izmir in 1985. At the age of eight, she started her study in music at the Izmir State Opera and Ballet Children’s Choir. When she was 15 years old, Baran entered Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory High School and studied classical guitar with Kadircan Özdemir. She also studied guitar with many renowned teachers and artists such as Goran Krivokapic, Zoran Dukic, Marco Socias, Andrew York, William Kanengiser, Dagoberto Linhares, Emanuele Segre, Massimo Delle Cese, The Gothenburg Combo, Johannes Moller, Jorge Cardoso, Carlo Marchione, Costas Cotsiolis, Sharon Isbin, Nikita Koshkin, Thomas Kirchoff, Gerhard Reichenbach and Roland Dyens.

Baran has given many recitals as a soloist as well as a member of orchestras. In 2010 she obtained her Master′s degree at the Guitar Branch in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University. She worked at the Music Department of Yaşar University. After studying with Prof. Dale Kavanagh at Hochshule für Musik Detmold for 5 months in 2011, Baran pursues her doctoral degree, proficiency in Arts, with Doç. Kağan Korad at Bilkent University. She also works as a research assistant at the Department of Classical Guitar of Başkent University State Conservatory.
