Cengiz Baysal graduated from Berklee College of Music. He then served as a lecturer at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles between 1998 and 1999; as a member of the advisory board in Los Angeles City College. After coming back to Turkey, Baysal has been performing in many concerts both in Turkey and abroad: Blue Note (New York), Bimhouse (Amsterdam), North Sea Jazz; Montreux Jazz, Jazz a Vienne, Rhythm Sticks (London), Ethnosur, Ethnomalaga (Spain), Moers (Germany), Jazz Spring in Bucharest, Vienna O.R.F. and Joe Zauinul’s Birdland. He has worked with musicians such as Ron Affif, Kerem Görsev, Aydın Esen, Mercan Dede, Okay Temiz, İlhan Erşahin, Emin Fındıkoğlu, Tuna Ötenel, Nguen Le, Dave Samuels, Eve Cornelius, Chip Crafword, Audio Fact Group, Ali Perret, Tiger Okoshi, İmer Demirer and Paula West.

His first solo album “Yıldızların Üstünde” was recorded by the D.M.C. plaque company in 2003. His second album “Candy and Milkshake” was recorded by the Rec By Saatchi plaque company in 2006.
