Billur Kibritçioğlu was born in Nashville (US) in 1985. She began studying violin with Muhammedcan Turdiev at Bilkent Conservatory at the age of 11. After graduating from the Faculty of Music and Stage Arts of Bilkent University in 2006, she pursued Master’s degree with Irina Muresanu at Boston Conservatory in 2007-2009. Kibritçioğlu studied piano at Suny Purchase College in New York in 2010-2013. In 2000, she was selected among two candidates who represented Turkey in the Euro-Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, which was organized by MATAN. In the same year she attended violin competition “VII. Concorso Violinistico Internazionale “Andrea Postacchini,” which was held in the city of Fermo, Italy. Kibritçioğlu has performed as a soloist as well as a member of chamber or full orchestras in Turkey and the US. She has also attended many masterclasses, workshops and private lessons of renowned artists such as Ellen Jewett, Prof. Katie Lansdale (The Hartt School of Music), Prof. Yehonatan M. Berick (Michigan University), Itzhak Rashkovsky, Alexander Vinitski, Vanya Milanova and Mikhail Gotsdiner (Tchaikovsky State String Quartet). Kibritçioğlu currently continues her work in Turkey and the US.
