Berke Hitay

Berke Hitay started his musical education at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University in 1991. In 1997 he entered the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts of Bilkent University with a scholarship and graduated from the Branch of bassoon in 2001. He pursued his Master′s degree at Manchester Royal Northern College of Music, where he composed two works under the supervision of composer Anthony Gilbert. After graduating from the College in 2003, Hitay returned to Istanbul and began his doctoral degree at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University. He also teaches at the same conservatory and performs as a bassoonist in the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.
