Bahar Göksu was born in Izmir. She started playing harp with Sevin Berk at the Ankara State Conservatory. Göksu was among the top five of the 22 harpists at the international Louise Charpentier harp competition in Paris in 1986.  She received a diploma from the famous harpist, Susanna Mildonian at the Academia Chigiana in Italy in the season of 1990-1991. Göksu performed in the opera “Cavalleria Rusticana” with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra and famous opera singers, Chirley Verret and Christian Johannessen. Between 1992 and 1993, Göksu gave a concert with Gloria Agostini in New York. Göksu has performed many harp concertos with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. She currently serves not only as a soloist but also as a master of the harpists in the Ankara State Opera and Ballet. She also teaches at Hacettepe University State Conservatory.
