Ayşegül Kirmanoğlu was born in Istanbul. She entered the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in 1974. She started clarinet with Tülay Orser and continued with Ahmet Ermakastar. In 1983, she participated in the Aberdeen Music Festival with a scholarship from the British Cultural Commission. In 1985, she entered Nantes Conservatory in France with a fellowship from the French Government and continued to study clarinet with Mehmet Ermakastar, Alain Boeglin and Guy Deplus. In the same year, Kirmanoğlu won first place in the Leopold Bellan Contest in Paris. In 2001, she was invited to the seminar, which was organized by the Association of the Mediterranean Clarinet Players in Nimes, France.  Kirmanoğlu has given many concerts and recitals as a soloist, a member of chamber orchestra in Turkey and abroad. Currently, she performs as chief of clarinet group in the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and as a soloist in the Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra.
