Ali Kocatepe was born in Izmir in 1947. He graduated from the School of Economics and Commercial Sciences at Ege University in 1974. He released the first album "Böyle Yazmış Yaradan" in 1968. He then moved to Istanbul and founded the company "1 Numara Plakçılık." Kocatepe has participated in many national and international competitions and received many awards. He composed two musicals "Şen Sazın Bülnülleri" and "Medya Medya Nereye." In 1974 Kocatepe composed "Antalya′ya Koş" for the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. As a producer, he has released 71 single records, 30 albums, 25 cassettes, and 24 CDs. In 2006 he compiled his works and prepared the album "41 Kere Maşallah," including 26 songs. Besides being a composer and a producer, Kocatepe has presented TV programs and written columns for Yeni Asır newspaper. In 2011 he published the book "Hey Gidi Dünya Hey" (Istanbul: Doğan Kitap). He lives and works in Istanbul.
