Serdar Akar was born in Ankara in 1964. He graduated from Cinema-TV Department at Mimar Sinan University in 2000. In 1989, he started working as an assistant director for the film “Med-Cezir Manzaraları,” which was directed by Mahinur Ergun. In 1998, Akar wrote screen plays for two films “Gemide” and “Bir Azize.” He also directed the film “Gemide.” Between 1998 and 2000, he wrote and directed the film “Dar Alanda Kısa Paslaşmalar.” After shooting the film “Maruf” in 2001, Akar concentrated on shooting TV series such as “Kurtlar Vadisi Irak” (2005). In 2006, Akar founded his company Filmakar, and made the film “Barda.” In 2007, he shot TV drama “Elveda Rumeli” with Tarkan Karlıdağ, with whom Akar established the company Adamfilm. In 2007, Under Adamfilm, he founded Tiyatroadam, and supervised the theater “Albay Kuş.” Currently, Akar teaches at Cinema and TV Department of Mimar Sinan University.
