Necip Sarıcı was born in Istanbul in 1934. He entered into the cinema world in 1949. After working as an apprentice for three years in Izmir, he returned to Istanbul and worked for Şan Cinema and And Film company (1952) and Lale Film Studio (1957). In 1974, he founded his own company "Yeni Studio, Ses ve Laboratuarları," where he dubbed almost 10,000 foreign films and made the recordings of sound effect and music of thousands of domestic films. Sarıcı worked with several significant companies of Yeşilçam such as Arzu Film, Erman Film, Uğur Film, Akün Film, and Erler Film.

Taking over the Lale Studio from the Firmer family, and renaming it as "Yeni Lale," Sarıcı still leads a life in the cinema arts with his enormous dubbing, editing, telecine works in a new organization. As a producer, he brought out documentaries like "Çağdaş Nasrettin Hoca-Aziz Nesin” (by Feyzi Tuna), “Anadolu Selçuklu Çini Sanatı” (by Ertem Göreç), and “Allahla Kul Arasındaki Araç Tesbih." Among his most famous productions are “Kuyu” (1969), “Yusuf ile Kenan” (1980) and “Kırık Bir Aşk Hikayesi” (1982).

Sarıcı served as General Secretary of FİYAP (Film Producers′ Professional Association) and as a supervisory board member of the Ministry of Culture. Being a prominent archivist, Sarıcı keeps 65,000 photograph negatives, almost 5,000 books on literature, history, art, cinema and vocations, film negatives of important movies of Turkish cinema history, positive visual copies and 5 thousand posters in his archive. In 2013, he received Lifetime Achievement Award in the 20th Altın Koza Film Festival. Sarıcı currently lives and works in Istanbul.
