Murat Düzgünoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1969. He graduated from the Cinema and TV Department at Mimar Sinan University and Marmara University. He has worked at various departments in the Film and TV sector. While studying at university, he shot short film "Ayrılık" and attended the Antalya Golden Orange Short Film Festival. Düzgünoğlu was invited to the Montpelier Mediterranean Films Festival. In 2004 he shot a documentary film of painter Orhan Taylan. Düzgünoğlu has shot many films including "Hayatın Tuzu" (2009) and "Neden Tarkovski Olamıyorum?" (2014), with which he received Yılmaz Güney Award and the Best Director Award in the 21st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival. He has also shot many TV series such as "Ümit Milli" (2006) and "Şifacı" (2007). Düzgünoğlu currently continues his work in Istanbul.
