İlker Aksum was born in Isparta in 1971. He graduated from the Theater Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He became famous for the role of “Ruşen” in the TV series “Yabancı Damat.” In 2006, Aksum was awarded the "Best Supporting Actor” in the 28th SIYAD Turkish Cinema Awards. In 2010, he received the "Best Supporting Actor” Award in the first İsmail Cem Television Awards. Aksum acted in the theater production of Macbeth′s "William Shakespeare" (Oyun Atölyesi, 2010). In 2013, he received the "Best Actor of the Year" in the 18th Sadri Alışık Theatre and Cinema Acting Awards for his role in the film "Mutlu Aile Defteri." Currently, Aksum continues to act in films and TV series.
