Cevdet Mercan was born in Gaziantep in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul University in 1988. Between 1995 and 1999, he worked as an assistant of Yavuz Özkan. In 2004, he started directing TV series “Şeytan Ayrıntıda Gizlidir” for TRT, which was from the essay of Ahmet Ümit. This series was nominated to the 7 sections of the First Annual Primetime Beyaz İnci TV Awards in 2005. In the next year, he directed horror series “Kabuslar Evi” including “Gece Gelen Arkadaşlar”, “Seni Beklerken” and “Onlara Dokunmak”, which were written by the scenarist Çağan Irmak. In the same year, Mercan also shot the final volume of TV series “Kırık Kanatlar”. He has shot TV dramas such as “Yersiz yursiz” (2007), “Asi” (2007-2009), “Kasaba” (2009) and “Gönülçelen” (2010).
