Bennu Yıldırımlar was born in Istanbul in 1969. She graduated from the Theater Department at Istanbul University State Conservatory in 1990. In 1990-1991, she attended drama courses at the Westminster College School of Education. She also studied Ancient Greek Language and Literature for 2 years. While studying at the State Conservatory, she started performing at the Istanbul State Theatres in 1990. Since then Yıldırımlar has performed in the Istanbul Municipality Theatre. Besides theatre plays, she has acted in many films and TV series such as "Kaç Para Kaç" (film, 1998), "Yaprak Dökümü" (TV series, 2006-2010), Gökten Üç Elma Düştü (film, 2009-2010), “Umutsuz Ev Kadınları” (TV series, 2011-2014) and "Gönül İşleri" (TV series, 2014-2015). Yıldırımlar has received many awards including the "Best Actress Award" in the 2000 Sadri Alışık Film Awards, the "Best Actress Award" in the 2006 Lions Theater Awards and the "Best Actress Award" in the 2008 Golden Butterfly Awards. She currently lives and works in Istanbul.
