Veysel Atayman was born in Istanbul in 1941. He graduated from the Department of German Language, Literature and Philosophy in the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University. He taught at the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Istanbul University. Dr. Atayman wrote numerous essays and critiques on philosophy, poplular science, cinema and literature and published them in various literary journals. He edited nurmeous books and published his books including "Hukuk Felsefesi," "Etik," "Aydınlanma," "Samatya-Dinmeyen Tını," "100 Filmde Duygu / Asl Filmleri," "Altılının Son Ayağı." Dr. Atayman translated many literary works into Turkish. He wrote columns on cinema in various newspapers and magazines. He received a Ömer Asım Aksoy Award for his book "Biz Bu Ecrenin Çocukları." Dr. Veysel Atayman passed away in Istanbul in 2016.
