Mehmet Gün was born in Istanbul in 1956. He graduated from the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in Austria in 1983. He won the “Gold Füger” prize at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in 1978. He was in Italy and France between 1983 and 1984. Gün received a fellowship of DAAD and participated in the “Berlin Artist Program” between 1986 and 1987. He went to New York (1990) and Rome (1991) for his research on painting. Gün held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He passed away in Berlin in 2014.
