Gönül Ülkü Özcan
(1931-2016)

Gönül Ülkü Özcan was born in Istanbul in 1931. In 1947, she entered the Children′s Department in the Istanbul City Theatre. After getting married to actor Gazanfer Özcan, she and Gazanfer Özcan founded Gönül Ülkü-Gazanfer Özcan Theatre in 1962. Gönül Özcan performed in many plays until 2003. She also acted in several films and TV series. In 2014 Özcan received a Culture and Art Grand Award from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In 2016 Gönül Ülkü Özcan passed away in Istanbul.
