Fikret Oytam
(1926-2015)

Fikret Oytam was born in Aksaray in 1926. He graduated from the Painting Department in the State Academy of Fine Arts where he studied painting with Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu. In 1950, he started working as a journalist for Son Saat daily newspaper. Later, he worked as a columnist for Cumhuriyet daily newspaper. He collected his articles and published as books. He received many awards for his activities. After retiring, Oytam concentrated on painting in Antalya. He had many solo painting and photography exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Oytam was a founding member of the Mediterranean Journalist Foundation and the Golden Orange Culture and Art Foundation. He passed away in Antalya in 2015.
