Erhan Abir was born in Aydın in 1945. He started working as an extra at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre in 1962 after graduating from a high school. His first performance as an actor was in the play "Çalıkuşu" in 1962. After then Abir performed in numerous plays. He also acted as a voice actor in various films and radio theatres. Abir served as a board member (1981-1983) as well as a disciplinary board member (1984-1986) at the City Theatres. In 2007 he received the Most Successful Actor Award in the Sadri Alışık Cinema and Theatre Awards. Abir passed away in Istanbul in 2016.
