Ahmet Ada was born in Ceyhan in 1947. He studied at Ceyhan High School, but quit. He worked in various jobs. He served as a civil servant in Kayseri, and retired in 1993. His first poem “Tabuttur Kitaplar” was published in “Soyut” in 1996. Since then Ada has published his poems in many literary magazines and reviews. His poems have been translated into French, German, English and Kurdish. He has received many awards for his poems. In 2006, the symposium “40’ınci Sanat Yılında Ahmet Ada’nın Şiiri” was held in the Faculty of Letters at Çukurova University. Academic papers, which were presented at the symposium, have been published in the proceeding book “Ahmet Ada’nın Şiirine Bakışları" in 2009. In 2002, Ada moved to Mersin. He is a member of the Writers Union of Turkey.
