Nuri Pakdil was born in Maraş in 1934. He graduated from the Law Faculty at Istanbul University. After serving as a legal counsel between 1965 and 1967, he worked as an expert in the state planning organization of the Turkish Ministry until 1973. He published his first poems and essays in "Demokrasiye Hizmet" newspaper and "Hamle" magazine in Maraş in 1954. He also organized an art page in the "Yeni İstiklâl" newspaper. In 1969, Pakdil published a monthly literature magazine. He founded Literature Magazine Publication in 1972. Since then, he has published many poetry books, travel notes, and essays. His books have been translated into different languages such as English and French.
