Necat Çavuş was born in Mardin in 1959. He graduated from the Economic Department in the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University in 1986. He founded the Bürde Publications with İhsan Deniz, and directed the literary magazine "Bürde". Çavuş worked as a publishing director of Gükyüzü" newspaper in Gaziantep. He has also translated Arabic literary works into Turkish. Çavuş wrote daily columns for several newspapers such as "Selam" and "Yeni Şafak". His first poem was published in the "Muştu" literary magazine. Since then, his poems have been published in various literary magazines including "Diriliş", "Yönelişler", "Yedi İklim", "Şiir Atı", "Bürde" and "İpek Dili". Çavuş received a poetry award for his book “Yolcunun Gözleri” from the Writers Union of Turkey in 1989.
