Ebubekir Eroğlu was born in Malatya in 1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University in 1975. He worked as a free lawyer, and labor inspectorate. He also served as an advisory of the prime minister.
His first poem was published in “Yeni Adım” in 1965. Since then, his poems have been published in many literary magazines and reviews including “Edebiyat”, “Yönelişker”, “Gösteri”, “Diriliş”, and “Kitap-lik”. His first book “Kuşluk Saatleri” was published in 1974.

Eroğlu published and directed the poetry magazine “Yönelişler” between 1981 and 1990. He wrote weekly essays in the column of “Açık Sayfalar” in Zaman newspaper between 1986 and 2001. In addition, he published weekly writings in “Yeni Devir” (1978-1980) and “Yeni Şafak” (1996) newspapers. Eroğlu has won many awards for his poetry works.
