Erdem Gündüz was born in Ankara in 1979. He graduated from the Department of Music and Performing Arts in the Faculty of Art and Design at Yıldız Technical University in 2007. He took acting class at the Theatre Company of Ege University, and later on he established the Dance and Theatre Company at Ege University.
Gündüz performed with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality CRR Dance Theatre and the Istanbul Dance and Theater Company, with which he joined several festivals and workshops in Turkey and abroad. In 2007 he studied modern dance in Washington D.C. and New York under the John F. Kennedy Center Performing Arts Artists Exchange Program. Gündüz has attended international festivals with his choreographic works "Yara" and "Vücut." In 2008-2010 he assisted the course of modern dance at Boğaziçi University. He took part in the "Şamanik Doğaçlama - K. Hennesy" and "Partnering - K. Hermesdorf" in the 25th Impultstanz Vienna International Dance Festival. Since 2005 Gündüz has been given dance classes and prepared workshops at the Catı Dance Society.
In 2013 Gündüz received the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium International Prize. In 2014 he won a Theodor Heuss Medal in the 49th award ceremony. Gündüz currently continues his Master′s degree at the Department of Performing Arts of Mimar Sinan University.
