Mustafa Kaplan was born in Konya in 1965. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yıldız Technical University. Between 1984 and 1986, he started taking dance classes such as “Graham technique” from Geyvan McMillan. During his studies, Kaplan performed in Çağdaş Bale Topluluğu (Modern Ballet Company) and made his first choreography during those years. He began working in the Istanbul Municipality Theatre in 1990 where he served as a choreographer and dancer for 10 years. Kaplan is one of the founders of the Yeşil Üzümler Dance Theatre, the Dance Factory, the Tal Dance Company and the Çatı Dance Studio. He has performed both in Turkey and abroad: European countries, the USA, Japan and Morocco. As of today, Kaplan teaches dance at the Çatı Studio.
