Mehmet Atışan

Mehmet Atışan was born in Kırıkkale in 1953. In 1969, he started making 8 carat gold jewelry beside Rafet Yesin in Güneyköy. After working as a factory worker between 1975 and 1977, he made 14 carat gold jewelry at his own workshop in the Istanbul Grand Bazaar. He then worked as a master craftsman at a promotion company between 1997 and 2000. Since 2001, Atışan designs and makes jewelry for DÖSİM, which belongs to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, at his workshop. He makes jewelry and accessories of silver and horn with the “Savat” technique.
