Umut Demirgüç was born in Istanbul in 1972. She graduated from the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1997. She continued her master’s degree in metalsmith and jewelry design at the University of North Texas, School of Visual Arts and completed in 2005. During her studies, she worked with many important artists such as Harlan W. Butt and Ingrid Psuty. Demirgüç is a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths, American Craft Council and the Enamellist Society. Her works can be seen in Mutlu Art Gallery, Ayşe Takı Gallery, and Cam Ocağı Foundation Gallery in Istanbul, and R.D. Art Gallery in Ankara.
