Ebru Çerezci

Ebru Çerezci was born in Izmir in 1971. After she graduated from T.E.D. Ankara College, she studied Industrial Design at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. She worked as an industrial designer for some companies, and completed her master’s degree on art director. She had always been interested in art, mostly in Anatolian and Ottoman Art. Çerezci founded the Hiref with Güven Kılıç. Her motto to design the collection of Hiref is “Contemporary within history and history within contemporary”. Çerezci writes her article on “Handicrafts and Design” in Milliyet Art Magazine. She also teaches at the Department of Industrial Design of Yeditepe University. Çerezci was awarded several times with her design works. In 2009, she received first prize in the 3rd Turkey’s Woman Entrepreneur Competition, which was organized by Garanti Bank and Ekonomist Magazine with the contribution of the Women Entrepreneur Association of Turkey (KAGİDER).
