Dr. Lale Uluç completed her master′s degree with her thesis "Turkish Architecture at the Turn of the Twentieth Century: Vedat Tek" at Boğaziçi University after graduating from the University of Warwick, Coventry in England. In 2000, she received doctoral degree with her dissertation "Arts of the Book in the Sixteenth Century Shiraz" at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University in 2000. Dr. Uluç specializes in Turco-Persian Arts of the Book, Persian Cultural History, and Ottoman-Safavid Relations. She has published the book Turkman Governors, Shiraz Artisans and Ottoman Collectors: Arts of the Book in 16th Century Shiraz (Istanbul: İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları, 2006), and edited many books. She is a co-author of the book Impressions of Ottoman Culture in Europe 1453-1699. Dr. Uluç has participated in many international conferences and symposiums, and presented her papers. She currently teaches at Boğaziçi University.
